The best hires in this country have always come from one veteran vouching for another. So when you send us someone who gets hired, you get paid for the vouch.

Refer them. They get hired. You get $500.

How it works

Find a role on the open roles page and think of the person who'd be great at it.

Get your share link — it's the roles page with your name built into it. Takes about five seconds and there's nothing to sign up for.

Send that link, or post it. When they open it and apply, the "Referred by" box is already filled in with your name. Nobody has to remember to type anything, which is the step that used to lose people the bonus.

If they're hired, a $100 gift card goes out with your name on it after they start.

When they complete 90 days on the job, $400 more follows. $500 total for knowing your people.

Type your name. You get a link to the open roles with your name already inside it. Send that instead of the plain link and the referral box fills itself in when they apply.

Use the name Dean would recognise. If two people with the same name refer somebody, the phone number your buddy adds when they apply is what tells you apart — so tell them to add it.

The rules, kept simple

  1. One bonus per hire. One hire pays one referrer, once. However many people claim the same candidate, the money does not split and it does not double.
  2. The first application wins. Whatever referral is recorded on that candidate's first application is the one that counts, and it is stamped with the date and time it arrived. Later applications from the same person add to their record but never replace that first answer. If two people claim the same candidate, the earlier application decides it — and it cannot be added or changed after the fact.
  3. No self-referrals. If the referrer is the applicant — same person under a different spelling, a nickname, a second email — there is no bonus.
  4. You have to be identifiable and reachable to collect. A name we can match to a real person, plus a phone number or email that reaches you. "Mike" is not a name we can pay. Tell your buddy to put your phone or email in the box along with your name.
  5. $100 at start, $400 at 90 days. The $100 gift card goes out after your referral starts the job. The $400 follows when they complete 90 days of employment. If the placement ends before 90 days, the second payment doesn't apply.
  6. Gift cards may count as taxable income to you; that part is on you.
  7. Dean's determination is final. On who referred whom, on whether a referral counts, and on when a bonus is owed.
